FIBRE-TO-FIBRE CHEMICAL RECYCLING
Advancing the ecosystem towards the UK’s first chemical recycling plant
Chemical recycling is a key part of the solution to replacing virgin textile commodities, including cotton and oil.
The aims of chemical recycling processes are to create, over time, an economically viable alternative to virgin materials with the same level of quality and performance.
A fibre-to-fibre future needs industrial scale chemical recycling plants in the UK to process our high volumes non-reusable, non-resellable textiles.
Circle-8 is the official UK licensee of Worn Again Technologies’ patented process. We aim to commission our first chemical recycling plant in the UK in 2028.

PROCESS
How it works.
Worn Again Technologies' chemical recycling process is able to separate, decontaminate and extract polyester and cellulose (from cotton) from non-reusable textiles. The recaptured materials are sent into the textiles manufacturing supply chain to be spun back into fibre, yarn and textiles.
